| it's nice to have a spot to write something that's not facebook where everyone and their mother will literally see it...
writing to no one in particular, yet hoping people comment...
facebook is good for farts and giggles, but some times you want something a bit more private, where every acquaintance you've ever had won't know how you feel or what your thinking.
this is one of those times.
the past year or so, one of the lines in 24 by switchfoot has yet to leave my head. "life's not what i thought it would be 24 hours ago..." man is that ever true. this is not how i thought things would be. this isn't even really how i want things to be. but sometimes i just wonder how could i even do things differently?
the next line in the song is "still i'm singing Jesus take me up in arms with you." I'm glad Jesus is constant and unchanging when life is not. I"m glad that even though i don't know what's going on with my life that He does.

| my sister is getting married May 30th. Guess I'll have to wear a dress. Maid of Honor would look silly in dress pants.

| while you're doing it, staying up all night seems fun. the next day it seems like a very bad idea.
but hey 4 guys that went with our youth group got saved, so that's awesome! even if one of them was the kid i wrote up in class on wednesday.

| going camping this weekend with Kimberly, Jess, Julie, and Kimmy... I'm excited! It should be a blasty blast!

| this past sunday was my last week of the Joseph curriculum. It was cool. i had 6 10th-12th graders that came just about
every week. I think they enjoyed it and i know i did. it was cool to be
able to look into more of the details with them, since it was a story
they are so familiar with. one week i gave them a homework assignment
and 4 of the 5 that came the next week had it done.
the homework was actually pretty cool. i made up this worksheet about "remember" to have them do.
Remember
What does remember mean? (look it up in a dictionary or something.)

There
are many verses that God says "I will remember my covenant…" or the
people are told that they will "remember the days of their youth." What
do you think it means or what will happen when these things are
remembered?
Any conclusions you can draw from these passages??
so
after we talked about each of the passages, we discussed how when God
remembers, it's not that he forgot, but that he's going to take some
sort of immediate action.
so then i've been doing this bible study with my sister and some other
girls we are friends with. in sunday school i have shared different
things about the bible study with them cause it seems like they often
tie together. so after i got home the day we discussed this worksheet in sunday school,
i read the next day of homework in the bible study and then i wrote the
teens this email:
So I started doing the next day of homework for my Bible Study and it
said to look up Genesis 8:1 and then asked "Whom and what did God
remember?"
And then it talked about how it's unsettling to think
about God forgetting us. However God assures us in Isa. 49 that we
never leave His mind (Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no
compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I WILL
NOT FORGET YOU. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My Hands;
your walls are continually before me. v15-16)
She then goes on
to say that the opposite of God remembering is not God forgetting. And
has a page set up to have you study 3 of the exact passages we had on
the Remember worksheet I gave you, as well as two other very closely
related ones.
She then concludes the section with this
paragraph: The vast majority of references to God remembering also
record a subsequent action or promise of action. Beloved, God never
forgets His people. When the Word of God says that God remembers, we
can assume a subsequent action on His part, even if its not specified.
Almost every time we see a reference to God remembering, He is about to
stretch out His mighty arm and swing into action. And when He stands,
His enemies scatter (see Ps. 68:1). Glory! As you discovered in the
previous Scriptures, most of the action is included, if not implied, in
the context of God's remembrance. Hear this carefully: God acts on what
He remembers. (Moore, Beth. Believing God. LifeWay Press: Nashville,
TN. 2004. p147-149.)
I just thought I'd share that with
you guys cause I thought it was so neat to see how God reinforced that
idea to me in both Sunday School and Bible Study, and in case you
thought I was whacked when I shared with you this morning, here's
someone else who's saying the same things.

It was so crazy, the bible study was literally like the exact same thing i had taught in sunday school... God's pretty cool :)
